TMID is a Transport Management System used for managing shipments from their reception to delivery. It allows assigning shipments to customers, orders, and routes, generating invoices, and producing various types of reports. Users can perform numerous operations, including real-time tracking (via MarcoPoint integration), shipment consolidation, pricing calculations based on rate files or additional products like OrderExpress and LNOS, and communication with carrier systems. It also includes CO₂ emissions calculations.
The goal of the project is to modernize legacy backend processes, originally developed in XSharp/XBase with DBF file storage, by migrating them to modern technologies like .NET and SQL Server, while also developing new services. The result should be a robust, scalable, and maintainable logistics platform.
 
Technologies Used:
The technology stack varies by system module (frontend/backend), but currently includes:
•    Backend: .NET Core (including versions 8 and 9), .NET Framework 4.8, gRPC, NHibernate (ORM), MS SQL Server, Redis
•    Frontend: ASP.NET (MVC, WebForms), OneFace framework, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
•    Others: Git, NuGet, Postman tests, Azure DevOps pipelines, migration from Ranorex to TestComplete
•    Legacy technologies like XSharp, XBase, and Visual Basic are still partially present but gradually being replaced
 
Team Composition:
The team is internationally distributed:
•    Czech Republic: 4 developers
•    Slovakia: 1 developers / 3 testers
•    Netherlands: 9 team members (developers and testers)
•    Additional members (especially in PS/CS teams) come from various European countries and a few from the Philippines
 
Good English communication skills are essential.
 
Work Setup and Collaboration:
•    Office Presence:
The team operates almost entirely remotely. In both Czechia and Slovakia, office visits happen at most once or twice per month.
•    Time Zones:
Everyone works within the Central European Time zone (CET).
Some 3rd-party integrations (e.g., support teams in the US) become available after 2 PM CET, but all team meetings are held no later than 3 PM.
•    Work Style:
Flexible working hours
The team follows an iteration-based approach (monthly sprints), with clearly defined tasks
 
Additional Information for Candidates:
•    The project is ideal for developers with .NET expertise, experience in system migration, and solid analytical thinking
•    Familiarity with Git, NuGet package management, and legacy system modernization is highly beneficial
•    The focus is on new service development rather than maintenance of legacy code
 
We have an office in Žilina, Slovak Republic, which offers really nice and modern workspaces. It is used more actively, with a significantly higher number of people working from there on a regular basis.

TMID je systém řízení dopravy, který slouží ke správě zásilek od jejich přijetí až po doručení. Umožňuje přiřazovat zásilky k zákazníkům, objednávkám a trasám, generovat faktury a vytvářet různé typy zpráv. Uživatelé mohou provádět řadu operací, včetně sledování zásilek v reálném čase (prostřednictvím integrace s MarcoPoint), konsolidace zásilek, výpočtu cen na základě souborů sazeb nebo dalších produktů, jako jsou OrderExpress a LNOS, a komunikace se systémy dopravců. Zahrnuje také výpočty emisí CO₂.
Cílem projektu je modernizovat starší backendové procesy, původně vyvinuté v XSharp/XBase s ukládáním souborů DBF, jejich migrací na moderní technologie, jako jsou .NET a SQL Server, a zároveň vyvinout nové služby. Výsledkem by měla být robustní, škálovatelná a udržovatelná logistická platforma.

Technologický stack se liší podle systémového modulu (frontend/backend), ale v současné době zahrnuje:

Složení týmu je mezinárodní:
- Česká republika: Česko: 4 vývojáři
- Slovensko: 1 vývojář / 3 testeři
- Nizozemsko: 9 členů týmu (vývojáři a testeři)
- Další členové (zejména v týmech PS/CS) pocházejí z různých evropských zemí a několik z Filipín.
 
Dobré komunikační schopnosti v angličtině jsou nezbytné.
 
Nastavení práce a spolupráce:
- Přítomnost v kanceláři:
Tým pracuje téměř výhradně na dálku. V Česku i na Slovensku dochází k návštěvám kanceláře maximálně jednou až dvakrát měsíčně.
- Časová pásma: Na pracovišti je možné pracovat v různých časových pásmech:
Všichni pracují v rámci středoevropského časového pásma (SEČ).
Některé integrace třetích stran (např. týmy podpory v USA) jsou k dispozici po 14. hodině středoevropského času, ale všechny schůzky týmu se konají nejpozději v 15 hodin.
- Pracovní styl: Všichni členové týmu pracují v týmech, které se nacházejí v centru města:
Tým se řídí iteračním přístupem (měsíční sprinty) s jasně definovanými úkoly.
 
Další informace pro uchazeče:
- Projekt je ideální pro vývojáře s odbornými znalostmi v oblasti .NET, zkušenostmi s migrací systémů a solidním analytickým myšlením
- Znalost systému Git, správy balíčků NuGet a modernizace starších systémů je velmi výhodná.
- Důraz je kladen spíše na vývoj nových služeb než na údržbu staršího kódu

Kanceláře / pozice:
V případě potřeby slouží jako místo setkávání vývojářů, ale většina týmu pracuje na dálku. Kancelář si ponecháváme především z historických důvodů
