To strengthen our team, we are looking for an outstanding bilingual Software Developer(Java/J2EE)

Descartes Systems Group is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Software Developer (Java/J2EE) to join our team. This is a full-time hybrid role, meaning the position is situated at the Hamburg location, with the opportunity for work from home. The successful candidate will work with other developers, analysts (Technical Leads), and product managers on logistics software "GPM” Global Price Management for our international customers and ensure project delivery in a timely and high-quality manner, as well as provide internal support for other developers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Further development of our logistics software "GPM" for our international customers
  • Analysis and specification of customer requirements
  • Evaluation and development of solutions and their implementation
  • Responsibility in the development process and quality assurance during development
  • Documentation and communication in English
  • Communication on configuration tasks with our global customer base

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Maven 
  • Proficiency with Java/JEE,  JSON, XML, REST, Distributed System, RDBMS, MVC frameworks, Design Patterns, JavaScript, Angular, GWT, JSON, TypeScript
  • Working knowledge of developing software applications using SQL or NoSQL databases, Data Structure, and Algorithm
  •  Ability to develop software in both a Windows and a Linux environment.
  • Good understanding of modern front-end web development frameworks, such as ReactJS, AngularJS, or VueJS
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills, continuous integration, and delivery systems
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently in a team environment to achieve project goals.
