As a Business Development Representative at Descartes, your mission is clear: create a strong, predictable sales pipeline that powers our continued revenue growth. You’ll be the first touchpoint for potential customers, transforming curiosity into qualified opportunities through smart outreach, meaningful conversations, and a deep understanding of customer pain points.

 

This new role reflects our team’s growth and the exciting opportunities ahead.

 

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Source 65–75% of your pipeline via outbound prospecting
  • Hit or exceed monthly and quarterly pipeline goals
  • Book 8–12 qualified meetings per month
  • Maintain CRM data accuracy above 90%
  • Convert 20–30% of inbound leads into sales conversations

 

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Make 50–70 outbound calls and send 25–40 tailored emails daily
  • Execute multi-touch prospecting campaigns
  • Engage decision-makers with insight and confidence
  • Partner with Marketing to drive event attendance and net-new opportunities
  • Share feedback with leadership to improve process and training

 

What You Bring:

  • Experience in a sales or BDR/SDR role with track record of hitting goals
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar CRMs
  • Strong communication skills—especially by phone
  • Objection-handling savvy and relationship-building instincts
  • Analytical mindset and commitment to data-driven decisions

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 annually
